Dinner in Windjammer

Service is buffet style but they will bring you a soda if you want one.

Generally speaking they, will have all of the items from the dining room menu in the Windjammer as well as some extra items not in the dining room so the selection is actually bigger. The exception would be on lobster and filet mignon nights.

We ate in the Windjammer for the first time ever on our last cruise. It was really nice with soft lighting, etc. The food was primarily what was on the dining room menu with a few entrees different, and desserts, too.

The only problem was our waiter in the dining room got his feelings hurt and thought he had done something wrong! We had to reassure him it was just because we wanted to check out the 'Jammer.

The Windjammer is a great place to dine when you don't feel like doing the main dining room with it's set times and dress code. We really enjoy it since you can have the same entrées and sides (buffet style) without all of the formality involved. It also gives us more time time to enjoy many of the ship's evening amenities that are usually lost when spending much of the evening at dinner.

We really enjoy dressing up and doing the formal dining on a few nights but also enjoy just getting a bite to eat and doing other fun stuff.

On our last cruise on the Navigator, May 1, we ate dinner in the Windjammer 3 times. We felt late seating was too late and early, too early. We wanted to go to early show at 9, but not eat at 6. We were able to have dinner at 7:30 and get to show. It is the first time we have done this, and probably not the last. The food was very good at the Windjammer on the Navigator. We even missed one formal night. We made sure we went to dining room on lobster night, since that is not served in dining room.
