CaribbeanBound Posted September 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 7, 2009 As I understand it, Celebrity only books transfers up to about 4 - 6 weeks before the cruise. Call Holiday Inn Newark and speak to the manager. See what he or she can arrange for you.
greatam Posted September 7, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 7, 2009 I have seen transfers offered on board in FLL. But I sure wouldn't count on it. If the transfers are sold out, you may be out of luck. Most cruise ship transfers are from airports to ports, unless you booked the hotel as part of a pre cruise package. IF you booked the hotel independently, you would have to get back to the airport to use the cruise ship transfer. IF you are staying at the Holiday Inn AT the airport, you could take the hotel shuttle to the airport and catch the cruise line transfer. However, you will have to handle your luggage from the shuttle drop off, through the airport to one of the baggage claim areas to meet the cruise line transfer. IMHO, would be just as easy to catch a taxi/car service directly from the hotel to the cruise port. Same thing in reverse-taxi/car service back to the hotel. You will have to make arrangements for your own day room unless you booked the pre/post cruise hotel packages with the cruise line.
megr1125 Posted September 7, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2009 many hotels will not offer day rooms until the day needed. you would have to contact the hotel directly..NOT a central reservations number, and ask if they would have one available. (you could ask about that when you arrive for your pre cruise stay, if i am reading your email correctly.) you can get a cab or car service..should be about the same price...$40-50 US, plus tip. I use this and they reply quickly by email www.blackexecutivecars.com hope that helps.
