Need help - Trunk or Coki for Snorkeling

Anyone snorkeled at both these spots? I've heard the underwater trail at Trunk is lame... is this true?

 

We will be in port on a Sunday, and as far as I can tell there will be no other ships in port that day, so overcrowding is not an issue.

 

We don't mind the "hassle" of getting to St John, so that isn't a concern either.

 

I guess the question, is which beach provides better snorkeling, and by what margain?

We snorkeled at Coki and weren't very impressed. Friends of ours have raved about St. John and how beautiful the beach is there.
