Any places to snorkel on your own in Nassau?

Is is possible to snorkel on your own in Naseau if you have your own equipment?

Yes you can, but you will not get decent snorkeling from the beaches. What I have done a couple of times is to bring your own gear, get a taxi to snorklers cove and get a local to bring you out the one of the snorkeling areas. You will pay about $20-30 a person. The boats are nothing fancy mind you but you will see alot of fish, be prepared to dropped off at the peir and climb up the seawall on rusty attatched latters. It is an adventure and alot of fun!
