beshears Posted September 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2009 I may have already ask this, but here it goes again. Does anyone know of any Oldies or Rock & Roll cruises (any line other than NCL) that are happening in February or March of next year? brneyes P.S. I have found a couple, but you have to "sign up" with them. I have a TA that I have here in my area, and really don't want to sign up with an agency that I'm not familiar with, especially if something should happen, as I don't want to lose my money. You have no choice who you book with. The TA's/promoters put the deals together. There are special prices/special parties/special performances that are ONLY open to those that book the "package" deal. Quite a few of the oldies concerts are charters. There is also a R & B cruise that is heavily promoted in the KC area. http://www.bluescruise.com/ Richard Nader, Lar Entertainment and Friends Entertainment promote the largest amount of RR/oldies cruises. But if you want really spectacular oldies entertainment at 1/3 the price, pack yourself off to NY/NJ for a weekend of doo wop. They usually have a 2 day event which is simply spectacular in mid Spring. http://www.larentr.com/Events.htm http://www.friendentertainment.com/oldies_cruises.php http://www.youroldiescruise.com/ http://www.maltshopcruise.com/ http://www.richardnader.com/ The MaltShop cruise looks particularly good. Lou Christie is still as gorgeous today as he was 40 years ago. Lesley Gore and Lou Christie put on one heck of a performance TOGETHER at the Iowa State Fair a few years ago. If you didn't know, you would have thought they were quite the couple.
patseacruiser Posted September 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 14, 2009 A friend of mine runs a Gary Hoey cruise every year but that's what happens if you want to attend those kind of events - you have to book through that travel agent. All you can do is maybe ask for references and contact people that went on that cruise before to see if everything was above board.
