Cozumel - Drinking Age

My daughter who is 18 would like to know if she can have a drink at Cozumel. She knows she cannot drink on the ship but would like to have one magarita on the trip. Anyone know the drinking age?

Drinking age in Cozumel is 18.

Not sure what ship you are on, but on RC if you sign a waiver, your daugher can drink beer and wine. Not that we encourage it, lol, but my son is 19 and wanted to know also.

We are on RCCL and I am curious about the waiver. We have a group of high school seniors (most of them 18) and I have never heard anything about this. What exactly does it entail? Not that they are going to be 'allowed' to drink, but just in case some of the other parents ask.

When we were on RCCL last Christmas (2003), they allowed 18 year olds to drink beer and wine. They punched their S& S card twice if they were under 18 (no alcohol), once if they were 18-21 (beer and wine only) and not at all if over 21. I don't know if this has changed. On Princess, this Christmas, under 21 no alcohol at all.

My understanding is the waiver must be signed by a responsible adult. If you don't sign - they don't drink - well legally that is. My son was 16 on our RCL cruise and still managed to get his hands on some. Fortunately he didn't over indulge - and we had a VERY LONG TALK. Don't be surprised if some of them do get their hands on it.
