Drink like the locals

When I travel I prefer to eat and drink what the locals do. Anyone know of any really good cocktails that the locals prefer?

The standard drink by which local bars are measured is the mudslide. It is more a tourist phenomenon than a locals drink.

 

You might rather just kick back with a cold Caybrew beer and enjoy the taste of our islands more like a local.

Can you tell me about Caybrew? Is it a light or dark beer? I love to try local brews but don't really like darks.

Caybrews! I'm a self professed beer snob! haha I love love trying new beers, especially microbrews! Thank you, I'll be on the look out for them while I'm there!

Caybrew describes their brew as a full flavored premium lager. It is refreshing and crisp, as suits a tropical climate.

 

They are in the process of rolling out a lite version.

On our way to the dock for our Stingray City excursion we were stopped at a traffic light. A local fellow was standing/weaving/wobbling on the corner, bottle with brown bag around it in hand, laughing to himself and talking to no one in particular. Our driver leaned out and asked him "What joke dat bottle be tellin' ya, mon?"

 

On the way back to the tender beach, our group requested a stop at a local liquor store, where DW and I got a Pelikan (Belize) and a Red Stripe (which we fell in love with in Jamaica) for the thirsty trip back to the beach. Pity I didn't know about the Caybrews.:(

all the locals drank Old Milwaukee Light ...
