Villefranche Landmark Question

An older couple who live in Nice, want to meet us when we get off our cruise ship in Villefranche in a couple weeks and perhaps have lunch with us. They don't have email, so we have to phone them and tell them exactly where we will be before we leave Los Angeles.

I don't know that we can even give them an exact time, since we have to tender in, and sometimes the lines are long to get ashore, so I guess we'd try to get off the ship earlier than the time we set to meet.

Can anyone describe where we land in VF, and what landmark we should stand at?

Nancy, Go to Google maps and zoom into Villefranche, the landing port is the small L shaped harbor at the top left of the bay. Then use street view, thats the little orange man on the left and place him down on the road near the jetty. You can then have a look at shops hotels etc and pick a suitable place to meet.

Another suggestion may be to meet over coffee in the Hotel Welcome, 3 Quai Amiral Courbet (not far from the landing stage - turn right as you come off the tender) and it is on the sea front just a few minutes walk. It's a very pleasant hotel which is very well known in the town/area.

Thanks for the information on Google Maps and Hotel Welcome. Sounds perfect.

For those who have tendered, how long is the ride over to the dock and how long to wait for a tender, maybe a half hour? We are not anxious to be the first off the ship as we don't have an excursion to catch.
