Hobar Posted September 22, 2009 #26 Share Posted September 22, 2009 I have a formula. example: Hawaii, $475/night, dinner $250,$65/day car rental, booze bill, $50, $15/day tips, breakfast/lunch $100.total:$955/day SS/seabourn comes to between $875-$1000/day and you go to exciting places and you don't have to lift a finger. cruising, while a "tad" more maybe, is an experience to remember. a week in NY would be $600/day. It was an extremely attractive purchase.
meow! Posted September 22, 2009 #28 Share Posted September 22, 2009 It was an extremely attractive purchase. Just dreaming, if it were the newbuild Spirit, around Iceland at that price in 2011, wouldn't it be nice?!

unfathomable Posted September 23, 2009 #31 Share Posted September 23, 2009 Re dress code Silversea would depend on whether it is going to be enforced or not. I have seen it enforced, both in the bar and in the restaurant. No big fuss, no hurt feelings, but people sent away to get a jacket (etc).
