PTcruisers Posted September 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2009 Most of the money that will be applied to our sail & sign account will come from Fun Ship Dollars, does Carnival allow you to pull cash from your account if needed for port days? Also will they deduct your tips from the Fun Ship Dollars? The back of the coupon says they won't. Has anyone had any trouble with this?
serene56 Posted September 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2009 i use funship dollars for tips. the back of the dollars will say that you have to send it in to get credit but you can take them with you. If you want money off your account you go to the casino--use your sign & sail card in a slot machine to get cash for free yu wont be able to go to the pursers desk and ask for cash from your account
Rare patrice1 Posted September 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 21, 2009 We do the same. Like Serene says, they'll take your tip amount from your sign & sail - even if you use Funship $'s. Also, if you don't spend it all, they'll refund the difference on the last night with check under your door.
philsfun Posted September 21, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2009 What are funship dollars and how do you get them?
PTcruisers Posted September 21, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted September 21, 2009 Thank you for your responses. Serene, if I go to the casino and upload $200 on to my players bank on a slot machine, then play $20, do I then cash $180 out? If so, will the machine spit the money out or do I just take my card to the cashier and get the money? You can probably tell I never have any luck in the casino therefore I never have anything to cash out.: )
PTcruisers Posted September 21, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted September 21, 2009 Funship dollars are gift certificates. You can purchase them directly from Carnivals website. They're nice gifts. : ) Available in $25, $50, $100 and $500 denominations, customized Fun Ship Dollars can be used towards the purchase of a cruise or as an onboard credit. Just upload 200.00 on your card then go to the cashiers desk to get your money. Sign and sail and the casino credits are seperate- if you do this make sure you cash out the casino part the night before your cruise ends or you lose money, Carnival ships have cashless machines. You can put money in but any winnings will go on your sign and sail card.
mjmagee Posted September 21, 2009 #9 Share Posted September 21, 2009 To get cash in most shipboard casino's these days involves a 3% fee. Can you really do this with no fees? Marilyn

Marilyn if you use your sign and sail card at the slot machines its free. if you go to the cage and have the person do it for you yes--its 3%. when the casino opens-- go to any slot machine and set up your card- the machine will show you what to do- you put your card in-- give your birthdate- and a pin code.. and there ya go. just follow the directions and you are good to go. Mskala Posted September 21, 2009 #11 Share Posted September 21, 2009 None of this necessary. I was on the Pride sailing 2 weeks ago and all I did was go to the Purser's Desk and have them take cash from my account. I too used FunShip Dollars to secure my OBC so you should be able to do the same.

It was not too long ago someone posted that the pursers desk wouldnt even give them 10 bucks so they can grab a cab to get to western union to get more money. I think (and this is an assumption) that it depends on the source of the OBC. My OBC came from my own pocket in the form of FunShip Dollars that I paid for and applied to my account. I believe there are other sources of OBC such as specials/sales. That could be why. But again, I'm just guessing.
