Noisy Cabin? - Emerald Riviera Deck

We are a little late in booking the Emerald for January. We are sailing with another couple, and have been offered rooms R701 & R709.

From a quick glance at the ship map, it looks like we're mighty close to the stairs and elevator. We also pretty high, and pretty close to the back.

Any thoughts as to how much noise and/or movement there might be. My wife can be prone to some slight seasickness, and I'm a bit noise sensitive.

We've cruised before, and had no problem in the middle of the Caribe deck.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I've never had noise problems with being near the elevators and frequently choose cabins there. My only problem with noise has been the people who cannot close a door but insist on letting it slam shut. That varies by who the neighbors are on a particular cruise. When the slammer is a nightowl it wakes us both up.

We like being at the rear of the ship but have no problems with sea sickness.

Perfect location, Princess cabins are some of the most soundproof. Being near a stairwell or elevator is a non issue in my book.

We will only pick cabins on Riviera in the 600-700 area when we stay on that deck. ;)
