serene56 Posted January 3, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2005 Deck placement. YOu will get a category thats only on the forward decks. Another category will be midship and the next category will be towards the aft. The difference between a Superior and a delux is sq footage. Superior- 215 sq. ft., balcony 50 sq. ft. delux - (173 sq. ft., balcony 47 sq. ft.)

mtd716 Posted January 7, 2005 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2005 I think the D category cabins are larger than the E cabins. Also, in trying to price a cruise on Mariner that is over a year away, the only balconies available to us that could accommodate 4 people were category D2. In looking at the available staterooms and the deck plans, it appeared to me that the difference between D1 and D2 was that the D2 cabins either could accommodate a 3rd or 4th person, or were connecting rooms. This would appear to make the D2 cabins more desirable for families or groups.
jerseygirl3 Posted January 15, 2005 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2005 The Cat. D balcony cabins are about 20 sq. ft. larger than the E balcony cabins.
