zantedeschia Posted September 24, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2009 Check this out. Messina Hof, a winery in Texas has chartered Voyager for a cruise. Well I think that's pretty cool. If you join the charter, you get to participate in their wine tastings. However, this is the amusing part. I was perusing the web page here: http://www.messinahof.com/events_winetravel.php Interesting cruise ship picture they have there. (hint: it's not Voyager)

(hint: it's not Voyager) RCCL is going to love that one. Do you think they sampled too much of their own stuff already? :D I don't think they have chartered the whole ship as she is still listed on the RCCL website as going out on April 11. 7 Night Western Caribbean Cruise Ship Name: Voyager Of The Seas Departure Port: Galveston, Texas Ports of Call: Galveston, Texas; Cozumel, Mexico; George Town, Grand Cayman; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Galveston, Texas 2010 Date(s): 11 Apr
zantedeschia Posted September 24, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted September 24, 2009 Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say they chartered the entire ship. But yeah, they've got a block of rooms reserved. I'm like geez, they weren't even close. The Regatta is like 1/4 the size of Voyager.  I'm also kind of wondering if any of Messina Hof's wines will end up in the dining room. That would be fun to see, I'm all for promoting Texas businesses.

buckanear Posted September 24, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 24, 2009 What are you talking about? Thats a spitting image of the Voyager. With enough wine and a good squint, yes it is!
Alexis Posted September 24, 2009 #7 Share Posted September 24, 2009 With enough wine and a good squint, yes it is! Even with my glasses off I can see it isn't the Voyager. And I can't see a thing without them. :D Maybe I should go and try the something stronger. ;)
Bigtex1622 Posted September 24, 2009 #8 Share Posted September 24, 2009 Going on the same ship. Too funny, was never into wine. I hope it is great wine. I wonder if they will have a mini tasting party? Friends do like wine, But are paying about $200 less than their offer.
zantedeschia Posted September 24, 2009 Author #9 Share Posted September 24, 2009 I hope it is great wine. I wonder if they will have a mini tasting party? Friends do like wine, But are paying about $200 less than their offer. Their website says the wine tasting parties are only open to people who have joined their charter. Messina Hof wines are some of the best wines Texas produces. However, there's still a lot of wine out there that's better.

zantedeschia Posted September 24, 2009 Author #13 Share Posted September 24, 2009 Heh, it's a small booking. Maximum 55 staterooms? Not nearly as many winos as hoped. Hum, contact link was working yesterday. Try eventatmessinahofdotcom
KTMay1917 Posted September 24, 2009 #14 Share Posted September 24, 2009 I wouldn't contact them. I think its pretty funny. Let them keep that pic and then when they show up at the pier and see the "actual" Voyager then they'll probably fall out (literally) (combonation of the shock and too much wine b4 boarding):D
Toddcan Posted September 24, 2009 #15 Share Posted September 24, 2009 Either they have a special agreement with RCI, or rumrunners will soon be flying off the shelves in Texas. :D
