Cancunense Posted September 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2009 hello darlings and I appreciate you in advance... We have been to Monaco and to Nice...would ideally like to go to Cannes and Eze. You all rave about Eze so I cannot miss it. I imagine the best thing to do is get a round trip ticket Ville - Cannes - Ville. And a round trip ticket Ville - Eze - Ville. I understand the Cannes train station is in the center of the city? this is my biggest concern, proximity...so as not to get too lost. Would you do Eze first ? or second as it is closer. The ship arrives at 9am and leaves at 8pm (or reverse) Do share...pls :)

Eze and Villefranche is close by... but there is no direct bus. via Nice or Eze (lower part). From Eze (upper part) you can return to Eze (lower part) or to Nice by bus to catch the train towards Cannes. but Cannes is 50 minutes by train apart. Just as reference: The current train schedule http://www.ter-sncf.com/Images/FH04-Mandelieu-Grasse-Vintimiglia_ete_tcm21-63473.pdf The train station in Cannes is in walking distance to city center. Cancunense Posted September 27, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted September 27, 2009 allo...posted my time in port there in my question :) Thats right, we did tender in Villefranche, I totally forgot I have been there recently...and thats when we saw Monte Carlo and Nice...the train was super easy and I know it goes to Eze... I will research the other posts for how to get up that mountain, but if you want to tell me now....:) Please advise.
Rare HeinBloed Posted September 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 27, 2009 allo...posted my time in port there in my question :) We were in Villefranche a few months ago when we saw Nice and Monte Carlo and walked right off the ship. Please advise. Sorry - I overread - I do always the most apart places first and slowly return back. In case that you like to stay longer you are already on the way back. What you can do: take the train directly to Cannes. Return by bus alongside of Antibes Coast and transfer in Nice to the bus to Eze. In case of any problems: it's only 10-15 minutes ride by taxi (35 EUR) back to Villefranche. Just as reference: Bus Cannes - Nice: http://www.rca.tm.fr/ftp/lignes/Ligne_200.pdf Bus Nice - Eze: http://www.lignedazur.com/horaires_ligne/index.asp?rub_code=6&thm_id=&gpl_id=0&lign_id=1063 or http://www.rca.tm.fr/horaires/index.asp?thm_id=259&lign_id=32 Bus Eze (upper level = village) - Eze (lower level = coast): http://www.lignedazur.com/horaires_ligne/index.asp?rub_code=6&thm_id=&gpl_id=0&lign_id=1077 Bus Eze (lower level = coast) - Villefranche: http://www.rca.tm.fr/horaires/index.asp?thm_id=259&lign_id=41 What you need to do is a bottom-up-planning: 1. Last connection from Eze (coast) to Villefranche (arrival 1 hour ahead of ship's departure) 2. Connection from Eze (village) to Eze (coast) to meet connection 1. 3. Connection from Nice to Eze (village) to stay at least 1 hour (time of the year - light/dark???) there. 4. Connection from Cannes to Nice to meet connection 3. 5. Connection from Villefranche-sur-mer to Cannes to stay at least 2-3 hours in Cannes. So after you make these homework you know if you have enough time to do it all. Now it's up to you to plan. You can do it vice versa if you need just time to relax after a long day to stay on the train when it becomes darker and darker.
