Buying soda to bring on board while in port?

We'll be flying to NYC for our New England/Canada cruise. If I do not want to bring soda in our luggage (because of luggage weight and space issues that comes with flying)....can I buy some at a grocery store while in one of the American ports (Boston and/or Portland) to bring back onto the ship after our land excursions?

we did the same thing in key west and had no problem bringing them back. happy cruising!!!:)

yep...make sure you bring enough...and have a nice cruise :D....The left over soda if i have any i always give to my Room Stewart....
