Can onboard credits be used towards the auto tips? Thanks.

On our last cruise, we had $750 OBC and when we got on board, we saw that they had deducted the auto tips on day 1. I think that is because with $750 OBC, we didn't put down any more money or a CC.

Did they day the tips out on a daily bases? Seems like they would do one lump deduction and be done with it.
