okay, techie..

Bitter bitter bitter people. It is soooo sad. :(

I am not against personal freedom but I am against your cigarette smoke. Eventually, we don't need the government as all smokers kind of take care of themselves.

Non-smokers rights are already infringed upon.

The prices are crazy. Well, once you do the math, it is only .30 per cigarette. Bet people are willing to pay more.

See how easy multi post is! Your complaining only about smokers to add to your post count. Now thats SAD!!

I am so happy that non-smokers have found the true light and will be able to finally cruise without all that nasty smoke from the minority onboard. It's so wonderful that smoking - from cigs/cigars/pipes will no longer cause imminent cancer on cruises. I'm sure now that that is almost completed we can now go on to bigger things like no diving off the side of the ship (which actually causes death) or drinking confined to the port side only and not in front of anyone under 18. We can then do away with all perfume shops onboard and remove all lifevests that are made from anything manmade. We can then remove all nuts for fear of killing someone with a nut allergy. Of course then all gambling will be penny only with a max of 3 dollars per day. Finally all tips will be mandatory with a minimum equal to the cost of the ticket. Tickets will now be around $35,000 per person as only 50 will be cruising. Have a nice cruise everyone!

Given the urge some smokers have for venting, one would think they would understand the need for proper ventilation in toxic environments.

haha :)

Also, this argument seems almost political in nature. Smokers v. non is almost like the repubs vs. dems. No consensus is going to be reached.

I switch off between smoking and not smoking. My SO also is a smoker, and I purposely booked us a Spa cabin for our spring break cruise in the hope that we'll be less tempted to smoke (that and access to spa facilities is also a plus :D). I think that designated areas makes sense. It's really the only way to placate both groups. When I'm trying to quit, I prefer not having to be around smoking all the time because when I'm around it I'm more tempted to do it! It's a slippery slope for me. I'd be thankful for the designated areas. That way, if I don't want to be tempted I just wont go near those areas.

Wow! People seem to get awful upset over smoking. I too am a smoker and I don't find it too difficult to wait a couple of hours to have a cigarette. As far as losing rights go I would agree if it didn't pose a health risk to others. But it does so we should be mindful of non-smokers.

The discussion is NOT about waiting hours to have a cigarette. Some posters want smoking banned in balcony, staterooms, casino, and piano room. Are you willing to wait a couple of days? Most of us have said over and over that we don't care about the casino. We only want ONE room.

Please give the same advice of being mindful to the non-smokers. Everyone should be mindful of others.

Well this is what I "believe." Smokers are more easy going than the nons and don't search every board for smoking threads so they can preach about the evils and health hazards of smoke. And then copy and paste all the studies and statistics proving their point. When we fill out comment cards we thank the crew for a great cruise and don't complain how the behavior of some other passenger ruined our cruise. Every one has some kind of a bad habit that might bother me but I don't make it my life's work to stop them from doing it. Just chill out and live and let live.

Watch for this.

Watch for more.

I predict.

In the future.

ps. gr1634,great post.

I don't look for these, I just happen to come accross them.

I'm a ex-smoker and I would still be a smoker if I didn't get emphysema. I did like smoking but don't like what it did to me. That being said I think we would all get along if people used a little common sense. It is called etiquette. When I was a smoker and in a casino if someone was sitting at a machine or table and I wanted to smoke I would ask if they minded, if they said they didn't want me to I wouldn't, most of the time they said " go ahead". If I was sitting at a machine or table and smoking if someone sat next to me that was their problem they could see I was smoking. Now being a non smoker I don't see many people that ask me if I mind if they smoke and if they do I still say "go ahead" even though I should not be around it. Actually I like the smell.:D But I can not be in a smoke filled room, so if it bothers me I leave.

Justify smoking by name calling maybe?

What's got your panties all in a bunch, I'm not calling you the nut job, someone else takes that glory.

Actually, you may want to rethink that....if you've seen the majority of previous posts :D

A couple of days is an exaggeration. There are still several places outdoors under cover. I tend to book inside cabins and I dont smoke in them to be mindful to the guests to follow. Non-smokers don't put my health at risk so I don't see why they should be mindful of my smoking. P.S. I know what this discussion is about.

You just need to quit smoking as you are a disgrace to us real smokers. :D

All that just to justify smoking.

How sad is that?

I hope someday you can give up the addiction
