Pacific Dawn Baja deck cabins

Recommended Posts

We are cruising on Pacific Dawn NYE. We are on deck 10 Baja deck, cabins B283 and B154. Last time we were on Plaza deck and loved it there. Is it correct that the higher up you go the more movement you feel? We didnt suffer from sea sickness at all on our past 2 cruises, so I am sure we will be fine and not worried at all, actually I like the movement., but as we are travelling with friends that have never cruised before am a bit worried they may. One cabin seems to be at front of ship and the other at the back of ship.On previous cruises we were midship deck 5 and then 6. Other friends who also have never cruised before are way up the front of deck 11. Any thoughts re this.I love this site, everyone is always so knowledgable and helpful. Thanks in advance. Fiona:rolleyes:

Midship on Deck 5 or 6 will have very little movement in comparison to Deck 10 forward.

I recently had a cabin on the Pacific Dawn on Deck 11 AFT and I felt very little movement. All my previous cabins have been forward with a lot of movement so the aft cabin was a pleasant change. It also depends on how rough the sea is.

Cheers

Hi Fiona,

I am curious to know this too. To be honest with you, we were on Aloha deck on Sun Princess earlier this year, Aloha deck is the 3rd from the top deck (i think) and we were fine. I must be honest we had relatively calm seas but our first night was quite rough and i actually thought it was quite mild until i heard alot of people who were on lower decks complained of feeling sick. So not sure, it would be interesting to hear from people who have experience particularly rough seas and see what they think :D

Hi Cazz,

When we were on Pacific Dawn on deck 5, we went thru cyclone. All the drawers went flying out of the bedside drawers, all the coathangers in cupboard banged and things went flying off our desks, we didnt mind at all and werent sick, but was a bit hard if you were walking up corridors, was funny everyone walked like they were so drunk, going from side to side hahaha.. soooo many people were really sick and you would see the little men running around in their suits (look like space suits) and mask, cleaning up....I assumed if we experienced that on our deck, it must have been worse higher up, the worse thing was if you saw someone being sick it would then make you feel bit ordinary. They closed off all doors to outside decks, story going around then (not sure if 100% correct) that a man had gone to go outside and was holding the door and it slammed on him and as he was holding it, it chopped off one of his fingers. We tried to go outside before they locked the doors and couldnt hold door open as the wind so bad, and suctioned it shut. The only place to smoke was in the casino (i now know you cant smoke there anymore) but when we went in there, it smelt soo bad, as I guess everyone who smoked went in there as it was the only place. • 2 weeks later...

We just got back a few days ago and had B154. We loved it. It was relatively clsoe to the elevators, so long as you didnt use the aft ones. Dont worry about getting lost as we did all the time even on our last day, just look at the map as you get off the lifts and you will be fine :)
