train vs bus mestre to venice

have decided to stay in mestre or possibly a surrounding town, my dh is uses wheelchair some of the time, last yr we rented a apartment in venice took the blue bus into p.roma form airport without difficulty.left our big luggage in luggage depot. leaving took taxie to ship,instead of free shuttle.this yr we'll be traveling with wheelchair & scooter,+ luggage.

 

-not sure how to choose hotel. those very close to train station are easy to id, any recommendations?

- how is the train into venice? the station is very close to p.roma, correct?

-do you know of anywhere to see bus routes in mestre areas? train/bus routes a little further out. are there towns outside mestre that would be better to stay in?

-any idea how much a taxie from mestre to ship is? we paid 10euros from p.roma to ship last yr,since we have "so much stuff" i think we'll need to take a taxie again.

any suggestions would be appreciated.
