2Sisterz Posted October 4, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2009 How do you recommend cleaning a mask/snorkel and fins after they have been stored for a long time? Going to the southern caribbean soon and the set I have hasn't been used in a long time. Still looks in great shape, but I just need advice on how to carefully clean them all up! bruce-r Posted October 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2009 Soak everything in warm water for 20-30 minutes then towel dry it all. If you think you need to use soap, I'd go with baby shampoo.

Capt_BJ Posted October 5, 2009 #4 Share Posted October 5, 2009 Thanks for the tip, Bruce-r! Bruce R plus a half cup of bleach if you are paranoid .... then rinse everything really really well. I am and I do ... 'cept my dive stuff seldom sits this long so this is simply what I do after a trip where the gear has been getting daily rinses and b4 I put it into storage ... then again b4 the next trip if it has been longer than a month
Pamela W Posted October 8, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2009 There ia a clearer called Sink the Stick that you can get at dive shops. Give it a try-I would recomend it over bleach.

That product is made especially for wetsuit washing. Nearly everyone pees in their wetsuit. Not everyone will admit it however.
