Liner Posted October 14, 2009 #251 Share Posted October 14, 2009 Trainman-2----THANKS so much for a great review and pictures of 'my' ship (at least 'mine' starting on Nov. 8!!). I can only hope for good weather like you had.
Trainman-2 Posted October 14, 2009 Author #252 Share Posted October 14, 2009 As I close out this report, here are a bunch of random photos I took.
Trainman-2 Posted October 14, 2009 Author #253 Share Posted October 14, 2009 I think that one of the best features on the ship was the H2O Zone. The kids were having a ball! We watched them a lot from the Olive or Twist Lounge on Deck 14.
Trainman-2 Posted October 14, 2009 Author #254 Share Posted October 14, 2009 We called this gentleman "The Cowboy" because he was from Kansas and dressed as a farmer every day. He smoked a pipe so he spent his time walking Decks 12 and 4 and hanging out with us in Boleros. As nice a guy as you would ever want to meet. Trainman-2 Posted October 14, 2009 Author #255 Share Posted October 14, 2009 Art, like food, is subjective! There was art work everywhere on the ship and it is well worth simply exploring and looking. There was a lot that I liked or appreciated, but nothing that I would have bought for our house. The Giant Stop Lights in the aft Centrum Animated (when you turn the crank) wooden figures are in the starboard, aft, hallways near the elevators. Here are two more. Kids would love these! The model planes in the forward Centrum are best viewed from Deck 11.
Trainman-2 Posted October 14, 2009 Author #256 Share Posted October 14, 2009 I went up to the Skylight Chapel on Deck 15 which was pretty nice. This is where the weddings take place. Sorry about the glare from the skylights...
Trainman-2 Posted October 14, 2009 Author #257 Share Posted October 14, 2009 The Royal Promenade was impressive!
Trainman-2 Posted October 14, 2009 Author #258 Share Posted October 14, 2009 You know that I love the Windjammer! Here are some photos of the offerings during the Afternoon Snack time from 3:00 - 5:00 pm.
Trainman-2 Posted October 14, 2009 Author #259 Share Posted October 14, 2009 The Solarium Pool was my favorite place! I really like the steps going into the pool. The water was too cold for Carol so I never wasted my time suggesting that she go into the pool. Note To RCI - A Solar heater for the Solarium Pool would be nice! When we bought our new house in Palm coast, FL we had solar heating panels installed the day after we closed. My Brother shot this photo for us because we were back in South Carolina when the work was done. It is about 7:30 am as I write this post. The temperature outside is 82 degrees and the water temperature in our pool is 89 degrees. On a sunny day we can get it up to 95 degrees! Carol loves it! :D
Trainman-2 Posted October 14, 2009 Author #260 Share Posted October 14, 2009 It wouldn't be a RCI Cruise without an "Inch of Gold" sale!
