Upgraded Cabin on Odyssey

We just found that we have been upgraded from a V2 to a V6. Specifically cabin 748, with travelling companion in 747. While we are thankful for the upgrade, we wonder whether the proximity to all of the venues on Deck 6 will be a problem due to noise or congestion. Also it appears that the swimming pool is above us and I thought we had heard that there is a great deal of noise from that. Would those of you Odyssey sailors who might have first hand knowledge please render an opinion. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

That's a mighty nice upgrade! We had rooms across the hall from our traveling companions too and it worked out quite well. I wouldn't worry about any noise from the swimming pool, it will not be a factor. I don't have a deck plan handy, but if there are rooms under the exercise room - that's where I wouldn't want to be as all that treadmill activity would most likely be heard. We were directly under the bridge and never heard a thing. The pool is closed at night, so no worries. Enjoy your cruise.

I would keep the V2 on deck 5 rather than be on deck 7.you will not have noise from the suites above on deck 5, but there is a real issue re noise from the pool deck when you stay on deck 7.Just because the pool is closed does not mean that there are no people about.The area directly above 747 and 748 is a busy doorway that leads into restaurant 2 and the colonnade and there is also the patio grill that creates a lot of noise.I will totally discard deck 7 when booking a trip on the Odyssey again.The forward suites on deck 7 are fine but not the centre sixteen suites.
