When are guarantee assigned

I know what the website says "anytime after final payment up till the day of sailing"

 

But can anyone with more experience tell me when they are normally assigned. Are most done right away, within a couple days, or closer to sailing.

 

We sail in 4 weeks and I just upgraded from a outside to a guarantee balcony. The suspense is killing me. Will I have to live like this for four weeks???

I don't think there is a "normal" time. We've had them assigned within minutes, or three weeks before sailing. And for me, the waiting is half the fun. :p

Yeh, but it's only been over an hour and I may just burn up my reservation online, I have been into so many times checking.

If you just changed to a guarantee (today), you should see your new room assignment by tomorrow (Sunday) after 5 PM. At least that is the timetable that I've experienced. Just keep checking your reservation under "My Cruises". Right now it will show "balcony guarantee" (or something like that). Once your cabin has been assigned, it will show an actual cabin #.
