maryn680 Posted November 11, 2009 #76 Share Posted November 11, 2009 If you are going to bring an alarm clock simply to wake you for excursions, etc....forget it...call room service...tell them what time you want your 'coffee or juice or whatever' delivered... You will get a telphone call right before they knock on your door with your room service....beats an alarm clock every single time. i haven't tried this but heard, if you order things that are not on the menu like eggs and bacon...they will still deliver it to you.....otherwise you are stuck with take out... This is what DDP and I usually do, but be forewarned, sometimes they call and arrive at your door way ahead of time. This seemed to be particularly true during port stops where everybody was in a hurry to get off the ship. For example, during our port call in Alexandria, we wanted to get leave our stateroom at 7 to meet our tour to Cairo. We placed our room service order for 6:15. They called, we opened the door, started showering, dressed, headed to the gangway to meet the others in our party...it was only then that we realized that they had delivered our b'fast sometime between 5:30 and 5:45. Our presumption was that due to so many folks ordering room service that they had no choice to start delivering earlier....next time, we will take an alarm clock!
