? about RCI port

Since the OP also started a thread about the "must see" things in LA, I am assuming they are coming here to Los Angeles for the Mariner of the Seas...

The facility Royal Caribbean uses is the "World Cruise Terminal" in San Pedro (the western side of the harbor)...at Harbor Blvd near the end of the 110 freeway, virtually under the Vincent Thomas Bridge...

It's very safe to stay nearby in San Pedro...though fairly inconvenient to most sites other than the cruise port--so, if you are staying more than just one night or if you want to do some sightseeing in LA, you may want to stay in another part of the city...

But, for a one night pre-cruise, San Pedro is pretty nice and convenient.

There are two recommended hotels--the Crowne Plaza San Pedro and the Doubletree San Pedro...The Crowne Plaza is in the heart of "Downtown" San Pedro with a lot of restaurants right in the immediate vicinity...The Doubletree is a little more remote, maybe a little more scenic--in the marina near where the main harbor channel empties out into the Pacific...Both have free shuttles to the pier and the DT will also shuttle you to restaurants...

These are easily the two nicest hotels in San Pedro and the only two I would think of staying in...

Good luck...
