running girl Posted October 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2009 I was wondering if anyone has rented a car from FLL airport and returned it to the Port Everglades location. If so what company? Was there a special fee to drop if off at another location? I tried to go threw price line but not sucessful try to drop it off at a different location. Any help would be great. We might end up just bring the car back to the airport? Then taking a taxi??

running girl Posted October 26, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted October 26, 2009 I don't think a travel book will help but thanks.
Twickenham Posted October 26, 2009 #4 Share Posted October 26, 2009 We rented from Thrifty at FLL and returned to their port location. There is no drop-off fee between these 2 locations as they are so close. While there was traffic mayham in the streets surrounding the office (shared with Dollar) - 12 ships in port! - all aspects that Thrifty could control were handled as efficiently as possible. Had to wait a while for the shuttle, but that was because of all the traffic - once it arrived things went very smoothly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Check around for discount codes - the Orlando Magic Card one is particularly good.
AlanAllyn Posted October 26, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 26, 2009 I believe that some of the major companies have you drop it off at the airport and shuttle you to the port from there.
running girl Posted October 26, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted October 26, 2009 Twickenham thank you for the reply. Did you reserve the car directly from them or did you go threw a orbitz or similar website? Thanks for the heads up on the traffic. We will have to give ourselves extra time. Twickenham Posted October 26, 2009 #7 Share Posted October 26, 2009 Used the Thrifty website - very user-friendly. Sign up for a Blue Chip membership, it's free and it speeds up the rental process (you go directly to the garage rather than stopping at the counter at FLL).
