Doubletree Gallery One in Ft. Lauderdale?

Does anyone have any first-hand info on this place? It gets really good reviews on tripadvisor...but it appears it might be further away from the port - we won't have a car. Any idea what a taxi would cost from the airport and to the port? Also, how's the neighborhood?

Great neighborhood...right next to upscale dining and shopping at Galleria Mall...on the intracoastal waterway...4 blocks from the beach. Without a car it would be great for one night. Taxi is approx. $25-30 each way.

We have stayed there many times before and after they gutted it and renovated about 2 years ago..the rooms are very very nice. Service is great, Galleria Mall is one of my favorites. We have never used it pre-cruise we go there for longer stays. It is an extra 5 minute ride to the Port. Last poster was right the cab was about $25.00.
