Sea Princess slot machines

I was on the Sea Princess last January and unless the slots have been changed, No its not possible. They were still the old feed ones. It is possible on the Grand Princess where the slots are cash free which I think is a much better system although it did take a bit of getting used to.

Thats a disapointment. I booked this first cruise in 2008 and can purchase obc gift vouchers at 2$ to the £. Have already purchased some but would like to purchase more for spending in ports. Any ideas how I can "cash" some onboard

Just order yourself casino vouchers (from the princess gift section) before your cruise. They can be cashed in at the casino cage as you wish and used for what you wish, slots, table play or for extra cash. They aren't actually shipboard credit, but are vouchers left in your stateroom in the denomination you chose to order. It makes it quite easy and we do this for every cruise.

I'm in the same position as OP, with a lot on my OB account. I'm sure I've read a posting from you about using the slot machines to download from OBA and then being able to draw from cashier as if it were winnings

That works only if the slots are set up with the casino account where you use your cruise card. I am not sure if the Sea is set up that way yet (one posted suggested that they have not switched them out on the Sea yet). Maybe someone who has sailed recently can shed light on this one and let us know if they have switched out the slots with the card reader so funds can be downloaded from your shipboard account.

The larger ships have all gotten the new slots, but last week on the Pacific, they still had the old style machines. (it is due to have the new ones installed in December while she is in dry dock I was told). But the key is to find out if the Sea has had them changed before you sail. ;)

If they have not, you can still draw from your shipboard account at the casino cage, it will just cost you an added 3% for doing so.

I'm on the Diamond next week, would that have the new slots

I am sure it does, so it shouldn't be a problem at all downloading from your shipboard account, without the added fee. As far as I know, or have read, the only ships still waiting for the new slot machine 'card' process, are some of the smaller ships in the fleet. ;) Enjoy!

Did not want this to get lost with all the discussion about the slot machines themselves.

Toto's method will work no matter what type of slot machine there is since it does not involve the machines.
