Is it easy to grab a taxi at port for a tour

I have been writing lost of tour companies in Dominica. And seems like prices per person has gone way up in the past few years. This will be our third visit. There are 5 of us. We have been to the regular stops like: Rainforest Aerial Tram, Titou Gorge, Trafalgar Falls, Emerald Pools, Local site around port.

We are not sure what else to do but we like waterfalls, rain forest etc. The ship arrivals at 9am and departs at 5pm. So truly we have about 6 1/2 hours touring time, this is being safe. We want to get back in plenty of time.

Should we be able to grab a taxi for a couple of hours. Any suggestions on locations to go. Or should we just do the same thing all over again.

Once all the brouhaha dies down of all the people leaving the ship at once we then got off ship and it was easy to find certified taxis willing to give tours, etc. and they were reasonable priced since getting a fare was slimmer and slimmer as more of the ship was already on land doing what they came for. One of the time in Dominica I did a private tour riding atv's in the rain forest by melanie winston. Was very nice family that accompanied you on the tour. http://www.avirtualdominica.com/highrideadventures/#atvrides Had a great time.
