awayatsea Posted October 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2009 My NCL cruise documents say that this fee of about $131 per US citizen flying into EZE (Buenos Aires) that was postponed in Mar. 2009 has now been instituted despite the decline in tourism which was the original reason for postponing it. Anyone know for sure when it started or when will it start up?
owl61 Posted October 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2009 It was not in effect as of Sept 28 when I entered. The tripadvisor forum for Argentina is pretty lively and if it were in effect I am sure there would be lots of discussion there. As there has been none I assume it has not gone into effect as of today.
grinderboat Posted October 29, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 29, 2009 Checked with a friend who lives in BA. No fee is being charged, nor is one expected in the near future. grinderboat
parischris Posted October 30, 2009 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2009 $USD131 sounds very like the Santiago fee - are you ending up there at some stage?
awayatsea Posted October 30, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted October 30, 2009
Thank you Owl61 and Grinderboat. Looks like my NCL cruising docs are in error about the fee in Buenos Aires to be charged to US Passport-holders just like the fee that is charged entering Santiago. Let's hope the BA government continues to hold off on this fee. AwayatSea.
