woodley Posted October 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2009 How up to date is the movie list for suite passengers and what type of selection is there?
jame_g Posted October 29, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2009 It usually has some fairly current movies. The selection is halfway decent, varied, but limited. We were able to find movies we wanted to see, the problem was finding the time to watch them. (If you have one or two flicks you really want to see, why not bring them with you, they don't take up much space.) Also, the selection is shared by all the suites, and if someone else currently has a movie you want, you will have to wait until they are done. They usually don't try to force anyone to return them until the end of the cruise, although they will ask.
2Cruise4Ever Posted October 29, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 29, 2009 I thought about taking a picture of the DVD list, but it's HUGE! Many, many pages....LOTS of movies from old classics to more modern releases. Not quite what you'd find in a video store, but maybe about 6 months behind or so... mum and son Posted October 29, 2009 #4 Share Posted October 29, 2009 Is there a selection suitable for kids? I have a 10 year old boy...
2Cruise4Ever Posted October 30, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2009 Plenty of choices. A ton of Disney movies and some G-rated non-Disney as well.
woodley Posted October 30, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted October 30, 2009 Thanks for the replies, its good to know there is a good selection ,we do not usually have time to watch movies on the ship but as this is 19 days I think we probably will spend a few hours watching them. pixiedustdawn Posted October 30, 2009 #7 Share Posted October 30, 2009 It was the highlight of my 12 year old dd's cruise. She watched every "Clark Griswold" (Chevy Chase) Vacation movie they had, and loved it. She also watched a few "Beethoveen" (big St. Bernard) movies. When they were at home, she wouldn't watch them with me. It was special on the ship. Dawn
2Cruise4Ever Posted October 30, 2009 #8 Share Posted October 30, 2009 Keep in mind that you can bring your own, too. We have a tradition where we go cruise shopping the week before the cruise and always buy a few new movies to bring with us. DS brings his portable DVD in case he and DD want to watch something that we don't. And, you know those CD carriers that slide onto your sun visor in your car? They work great for transporting DVDs, too. Takes up very little room and fits into DS' backpack perfectly!
jdvmd Posted October 30, 2009 #9 Share Posted October 30, 2009 We watched several movies and were pretty impressed with the selections. We also brought some DVDs with us - like "The Office," etc.
