MorePlease Posted October 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2009 My husband and I are sailing on the Mariner in May and we have a promenade room. In looking at pictures previous cruisers have taken of the promenade, it looks like there are skylights above. Is this correct or is there just artificial lighting that looks like skylights but mimics natural sunlight?
clochette Posted October 30, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2009 It is artificial lighting that mimics the time of day, it gets darker at night.

They are artificial in the ceiling of the royak promenade...its pretty neat...during the day they are "brighter" like daylight then in the evening they dim them to almost give the feeling of dusk.... Ocean Boy Posted October 30, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2009 now thats cool. It is very cool. This is one of the reasons why I love ships with the Promenade... because it is always changing. Whether it be the lighting, decorations, or activities that are going on, there is always something different. With most ships once you have seen them they are the same all week. But not so with the Promenade. When we are aboard and up on deck every once in a while we will get up and take a walk down to the Promenade just to see what is going on. Some people look at the Promenade as nothing more than a "shopping mall". The fact is that it is much more than that. I and my family love it.
