Houston Seaport

You really would be best served by booking a room in La Porte. That is where the Sea leaves from. It is on the bay, and there is a marina across the bridge from where the Sea is where you can have dinner and see the water. It will be alot less expensive and they might shuttle you to the ship, they are used to having cruise customers. Look up La Porte hotels on the web and check it out. We are sailing on the Sea January 29th and it can't come soon enough.

Hobby is much closer than IAH.

Any view would be fine.Unless there are rooms on the back side that look over the highway:D

The water fountain,is cool, and there are always bands and stuff going on there, and the channel, where all the boats go out is there,so you have a good view of it.The rooms really all face one way, there are some closer to one end that are closer to looking straight out over the water...but most views are pretty close.

Yes,it is more expensive, but they also have a shuttle to the pier, and its only maybe 10 miles to Kemah. It is definitly worth it,if you are interested in adding a really fun night to your stay.If you have kids...they will love it.You usually get some sort of ride/restaurant discount if you stay.

IAH is 40 miles, but its an easy drive.take the 59 exit south on 59, 610 east to 225 to 146.

Hobby is 20,but with traffic not that much quicker.Take Broadway to 45,45 north to 610,610 to 225 to 146.
