Sharing taxis?

Does St Kitt's have a system like some islands where cab drivers or mini-vans will wait to fill their vehicle so the costs can be shared among passengers?

I would be going to Cockleshell on my own but don't relish the costs of paying $26 each way solo.:(

We did this (share). The dispatcher told us that if we could get a group together, we could share the cost in a mini-van. It didn't take long - one guy overheard us talking and joined in, then we convinced another 2 couples who were undecided where they wanted to go.

p.s. At the time we went, it was $6.50pp/ow for a group of 5 or more.
