croozer10 Posted November 2, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2009 What is the weather like in Feb for New Zealand and Australia? I see the temp should be in 70's but what about humidity etc. Would you recommend shorts/capris for pre-cruise in Sydney, shore excursions and post-cruise in Auckland? Of course forecasts & historical records only give a guide. Weather is variable, and you could hit a warm or cold patch, however you should be fine wearing shorts. Naturally you should bring some long pants also. (I visited your home town of Alberta in June this year and it was beautiful. Your summer weather in June was similar to what you'll experience here during our summer)
Annecj Posted November 8, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2009 I think you will find temperatures quite variable. When we sailed Sydney to Auckland the temperatures ranged from the upper 70's in Sydney to the 50's in the Fjords and Dunedin. Be prepared to layer is your best bet. turtlemichael Posted November 8, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2009 In Sydney In February you will (usually) get warm to hot weather, chance of storms and perhaps high humidity. It won't be cold. Capris will be fine for land touring.
room010 Posted November 8, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 8, 2009 February is statistically the hottest month in Australia with temps up in the 80s, 90s and 100+ sometimes. New Zealand won't be quite so hot but you should bring plenty of comfortable "tropical" clothing and perhaps a couple of warmer jumpers and don't forget a rain jacket! kazganymede Posted November 8, 2009 #6 Share Posted November 8, 2009 Sydney in Feb is uncomfortably hot and sticky. Think of florida in August. NZ is always much cooler.
