Hi Everyone,

My good friend Janice (stanford's girl) & I will be posting live from the Ruby Princess Nov 4-14, 2009 as long as the internet service allows us.

We have had a "we will answer your questions" thread going for a while, but if you have one thats not on the list, we will try our best to answer them for you.

To our families, we look forward to seeing posts from you! Hugs!!!!

Here is your list of questions so far. We'll be printing this on Monday night Nov 2nd to take with us. If anyone else has a question, please post it and we'll do our very best to get you the answer.

Answers in RED are ones that were given by other posters here but we will report back if it has changed.

1. Seafood Buffet on 1st night?

2. Menu’s?

Ziggy will post these once we get back

3. Patters?

Ziggy will post these once we get back

4. Port Excursions?

5. Live entertainment in the various lounges?

6. Atrium performers and what kind of acts?

7. Guest Entertainers & Comedians?

8. Production Shows & times and are some of the shows repeated on a 2nd day?

9. What was on MUTS?

10. Breast Cancer Walk and when?

Yes and it is at 9.00 am on a sea day.

11. James Ibrahaim the CD--is he on board for February 18th sailing?

James got off the ship for vacation 10/25 but we'll find out when he gets back on board.

12. Scholarship at Sea programs--what were they, how well attended and presented?

13. Theme for the Crown Grille?

14. What themes (Italian Night, etc.) are featured and what nights they are offered?

15. Wine Tasting Event?

16. Crew Members?

17. Bartender in The Vines--if Hervey, CPWhittingham will be there in Dec.

Hervy is in Vines. He will be on the ship until March. Definitely stop by and say Hi to him from 'Richard and Cathy, trans-Atlantic'.

18. What night is Chef’s dinner?

19. Swing dance lessons?

20. Making reservations in Anytime Dining?

Never had a problem making reservations for personal choice dining. When you are done with dinner, just ask your waiter if you can arrive the next night at the same time or if you want to change waitstaff, ask the maitre'd.

21. Lunch service to the Bungalows?

22. Sanctuary bungalows and sanctuary extras available?

23. Priority tender tickets given for bungalows?

24. Did door decorations stay up?

25. Where to get soft serve and what hours?

Soft serve is available at the Ice Cream/Pizza station on Lido deck by the pool. The Ice Cream/Pizza station and the Burger/Hot Dog station were all open 11am-11pm daily.

26. Any major/noticable differences between Ruby and Emerald?

The Ruby Princess has better art work, especially in Club Fusion, and more pleasing color tones throughout the ship.

27. How are the Omelet & Waffle Stations set up and where at?

You have to ask the server near the kitchen window, nearest to where the fried eggs are. They give a receipt and call out when ready. First order the omelet with the toppings, then pick up other items, and then go back to the omelet server. Offered only in HC, not in Cafe Caribe.

28. Is lemonade available from the dispensers at the Horizon or must you still ask an attendant for a glass to be poured?

You must ask a server. No dispensing machines like the old days.

29. Is there is a Ruby Red formal night?

Yes, it is the second formal night.

30. How do you sign up for the Chefs Table dinner?

There was a notice in the Patter when you got on board. You had to contact dining reservations and request the Chef's table. They then would later select particpants and you would be notified if you were selected or not. It was stressed there was very limited seating.

31. What shows are worth seeing and which ones to pass on?

32. Do they have cartons of milk in the Horizons court?

No cartons of milk and no access to milk directly. You had to go to a server at a station in Horizon Court serving area and he would pour you a glass of milk. You could also ask any waiter of course to get one.

33. What are the times for traditional dining?

6:00 pm for early and 8:30 pm for late.

33. What Levels get invited to the evening cocktail parties in Skywalkers every night?

The Elite Lounge will be offered to Platinum and Elite members and those passengers that have booked Suite cabins.

34. What was the name that was to be given to the Ruby Princess, only to have it changed by Princess at the last minute?

Opal Princess

35. How many Formal nights?

There are 2 of them. The 1st is on the first sea day and the 2nd one is on the second to last sea day (or second to last night on the ship, which ever applies).

36. Which ports are tendered and which dock?

The only port that you will tender is Princess Cays. All the other ones you will be docked and at St. Thomas you will dock at Crown Bay instead of Havensight.

37. Did the ship ever feel crowded and if so, where and when?

So until the 4th! Blue skies & calm seas! God Bless!

Have a great cruise on the Ruby. I'm excited to read about your experiences. You mentioned that Skywalkers has a cocktail hour for Elite, Platinum and Suite Passengers. I had read it was only for Elite and not Platinum - can you or someone else verify? I'm Platinum and would definitely like to participate.
