I can help. Just off the Ruby Oct 25th. Skywalker's is open 5pm-7pm for suite, platinum and elite. The 5$ drink is one cocktail selected each evening. Examples are Margarita, Cosmo or Southern Comfort Rob Roy. You can order anything at the regular price.

Thank you very much. I am understanding that it is sort of like a "drink of the day" at a special price($5) for those in the Plat., Diam, and suites. Is it a special section set aside or the entire Skywalkers? Is there a special timeframe that this happens? I guess I am comparing it to the RCL Concierge Lounge for suites and I don't think it is like that. Thanks for the information. I appreciate it..:)

You have entire use of the lounge. There are different themes each evening and special appetizers.I have a list at home from my Transatlantic in October. I will try to post some examples this evening when I am @home.As I mentioned this is 5-7pm each evening.

Were the $5 Margaritas the same size as the ones offered in Adadio's. They came in a hugh glass with a green stripe. If so that would be a bargain.

Hi - can anyone on the Ruby right now say Hi to Chris (singer/guitarist with Junction 21) from his mum and dad. We know he's worrying right now because his dad has just been diagnosed with the big 'C'. He wanted to come straight home, but nothing he can do here at the moment, and we told him 'the show must go on'. Is due home on 15 December anyway, so we're all looking forward to that. Sorry to intrude on this thread. I'm personally enjoying all the posts too, so keep them coming. And to all of you already on the Ruby, have a FANTASTIC time.

Thanks. :)

Sending positive thoughts and prayers to your husband and family. Glad to hear that your son will be home soon too.

Mary

Hi Everyone,

Today we were in St. Kitts and it is a very beautiful place for sure! First let me say the internet has been sporadic tonight so I’m not sure this will get posted but I tried if it didn’t! As you can see Miss Janice has been out most nights partying on the ship and collecting valuable inside information, and I have been good and answering your questions, but really we are gathering all your answers and will post what doesn’t get posted during this cruise, soon after we return :P

Thank you everyone for following along and all your nice compliments! It makes our hearts feel good we are able to help answer your questions.

So far this cruise has been wonderful! Even the weather has been good to us. Of course part is due to Captain McCharming’s zig zag sailing along the way hehehehe he is doing his best to take is around all the little rain storms out in the ocean. The only place we got rained on today was in the rain forest here!

The staff has been the best we have experienced in a long time! Our room steward is totally wonderful! How does he know what we want before we do?!

We are having one little problem with some of the staff’s handling of bugs (maybe fleas) in one of the aft cabins and the staff seems to think it’s all in DogMommies head or that she is getting them ashore. But some of us went to visit her and received bites within 5 minutes of arriving to her cabin. The staff has been rude to her including the nurse in the infirmary. We are still waiting to see if and how its handled and will post the ending on here as well as the cabin number if they don’t get rid of what’s biting in there :P

Will answer questions tomorrow! To our families, we love & miss you!

Blessings Everyone!

Ziggy & Janice

Hi Everyone,

Today we were in Barbados and ran into quite a down pour but the good part was we were snorkeling with the sea turtles and didn’t mind getting wet LOL It passed in 15 minutes and we were back to hot and sunny! We are not near nor being affected by any hurricanes thankfully!

Ok enough about us, here are your answers:

Glenda, just Renorita. I’m not sure about who you know on the roll call hehehehe but these people are the cream of the crop! Allot of fun and always smiling! I think it has to do with the magical powers of this wonderful ship a little too!

Where did you get the Princess coupon book from? It was part of a promotion or group bookings at the time we booked this cruise.

Can you confirm what the deal is with getting cash at the casino? Also, do they have a non-smoking area in the casino? You can take your sea pass and put it in the slot machine, then press “get cash” after that you can take your card and “cash out”, no extra charges! I did not see if they have a separate smoking section, maybe Janice with find out soon.

We are doing the tour with Spencer Ambrose, but thanks for the heads up on Cosol.

I have a question about your M&G that you mentioned and how you set it up with Princess. Is there someone specific you contacted to meet at a certain time?

We set up the meeting place with Renee Wittwer – Onboard coordinator for the Ruby Princess. Her email is rwittwer@princesscruises.com . As for the staff, I wrote personal letters inviting them indivually.

There's a thread here on the CC Princess Board by GBeret who heard Princess no longer has Escargot nor Crab Legs on the menu. Is this true? We have not seen Escargot on the menu yet but know for a fact you can order it every night for appetizers, as well as shrimp cocktail. We had crab leg halves on the first sea day in the Café Caribe.

The edible fruit bouquet I made Janice was fruit I got from the Horizon Court buffet, I brought the skewers from home and used a white cloth napkin to cover the class with ice in it, that was used to hold the skewers upright LOL

"Tomorrow night is a big party “Black & White” on deck at 9:30pm to celebrate the 1 year birthday of the Inaugural cruise!"

This meaning tomorrow night is formal???

No, it was smart casual! And it was actually called “White Hot” deck party!

TOgal65, rest assured, Captain Yeoman is very approachable and would love an invitation to the meeting! He loves his ship and takes great pride in that the passengers are happy! I’m sure your husband with do a wonderful job for reporting live!

A question about James Ibrahim. You say he is returning Jan.25. That is in the middle of our cruise on the Ruby. I’m sorry I got the date wrong, it is the 29th sorry.

We sail her from Jan. 19 - 29. I hope he's really returning the 19th because we sailed with him last year on the Grand and he's a really personable nice person! He'll remember our group if you tell him we're NOT traveling with Brian, Lawrence and the coconuts.

Have fun and again, thanks for posting! I will tell him you said hello when I can corner him again hehehe he is one busy person, always on deck with and activity to do!

Ziggy, we had a Martin for assistant CD on the Emerald in the Med last year. He was funny and very nice. Wonder if he is the same as your Martin? Yes, that is the same Martin.

Can you just take note if you see any of the crew with their laptops in any terminal buildings? We've learned that the crew is the best resource for internet questions in port. Thanks! (We want to use wi-fi on land to send photos from our iPhones to family members). The crew was in the Barbados terminal using wi-fi today. I ran out of time and did not get back to the terminal to upload my photos, had I known this was a hot spot I would have planned sooner ack!

I am also unable to get a counter installed. I understand you need to be using Internet Explorer as your browser. I use Safari and Firefox and they do not work. I use firefox and mine works!

You said that Suites, Platinum, and Elite get a special time to go to the Skywalkers for cocktails. I have also read that the alcohol is not free but for purchase at a discounted fee. How much do the drinks cost and when is this open to the before-mentioned groups? Is this each night of the cruise? Drinks are $5.00 and it is only for the drink of the day. Munchies are free!

I am hoping that when somebody gets a chance (even when you get home) to get some general information on topics that are being asked on recent threads here on CC.

1. Cabin temperatures - how to adjust thermostat... Thermostats are easy to adjust, whether they work well or not seems to depend on who you talk to. Ours works great! Janice says here is not very cold. We bring a small fan and I think that helps circulate the cold air better.

2. How hard/easy is to hang a shower curtain on those clips, if one so desires. And, how many clips are there???? The steward will give you a new (clean) shower curtain the day you embark. To test this, check and see if it’s dry when you first get to your room. So no need to bring your own!

Daughter #2, glad you and your sister are behaving, looks like you will be getting a souvenir after all then hehehe we love & miss you both!!!

P.S. So far it doesn’t look good for Janice & I as far as driving the ship goes but we have not given up hope! LOL

wishing you the best. My mil has lung cancer, is outlasting her doctor's prognosis by months, so I know it can be hard on the whole family.

Debbie, we were being eaten by bugs, probably sand fleas, in our bed on our Hawaiian cruise. And that was on the way to the Islands. So our cabin steward changed out the bedding for us and that took care of any future meals being made out of our limbs.

You had the right itinerary this week. Hurricane Ida was spinning around to the west of Cuba, and is now a tropical storm.

I would love to know the cabin number of the bugs since we have an aft cabin (b756) leaving on Nov. 14th.

And I'm in B755 on the 24th. I'd like to know too. I might call princess and ask them why they aren't treating this seriously.
