LAX to Long Beach

How far is LAX to Long Beach and how long does it take? What is the most economical way for 5 people to get from LAX to Long Beach and back from the port to LAX? Would you recomend booking a 11:30AM flight on a Sunday after the cruise or is that cutting it to close? Thanks

The problem with booking a flight before noon (we usually recommend 1pm) even on a Sunday is that there are many ways you can get delayed:

1. disembarkation may start late, esp. if you have some person who ignores any PA announcements directed toward him

2. traffic can get backed up if there's construction work, accidents, or even someone pulled over for a traffic violation

3. security lines at LAX

 

The best scenario is to book for the afternoon, but have some morning alternatives. If you get there early, see if there's available seats on other flights.
