TheBigEarl Posted November 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2009 Just wondering what the liquor prices are in Belize. Any good places to buy booze at a cheap price near the pier? Thanks We were there a couple of weeks ago. There is a small but nice liquor shop in the terminal area at the pier. They have good prices (liter of local Beliezean rum is 9 dollars, liters of typical name brands are probably 1/3 to 1/2 of the stateside prices. Ive gotten liquor there on 2 cruises, and it has had the cheapest prices of anywhere we stopped on those cruises. I dunno if there is anything outside the terminal. They pretty much recommend you don't wander outside unless you have a tour waiting for you, but i don't know if thats justified by past events, or just to keep the shoppers spending money in the terminal. artvlay Posted November 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2009 Liquer prices better in Cozumel or in Belize?
elisamarie Posted December 5, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2009 That depends on what you are buying. If you are buying Tequila or Kalhua, then the prices are better in Cozumel cause they make both of those in Mexico (go to the grocery store for the best prices in Cozumel.) If you are buying rum, then the prices in Belize are good because they have a rum distiller in Belize. We got Grey Goose Vodka in Belize and it was pretty cheap, compared to the US. But you can also get those pretty darn cheap on board ship.
