What is the best form of transportation from the Long Beach Airport to San Pedro?? Does anyone know what taxi fare runs?

From what I have read on boards it sounds like taxi fare from airport to port is set at $45.00 but not a set fare for return from ship. Sounds like several people also use Super shuttle - can't remember cost for that but if you search these boards for super shuttle more accurate info will come up. We are cruising beginning of Dec and I think we are going to use taxi instead of shuttle.

Speaking from recent first hand experience: I would not use SuperShuttle from Long Beach California Airport. We pre-paid via their web site (including tip) and when we arrived at the designated time and location we were told by the airport shuttle coordinator the driver had left. When we called the phone number on our reservation confirmation we were put on hold and then disconnected. We called back a second time and experienced the same result. Finally a police officer at the airport was able to contact them but they claimed we were listed as "no shows" and if they returned they would have to charge us a second time. No thanks. We eventually took a cab to our hotel in San Pedro. When we returned home we had the charge taken off our credit card since by law they aren't allowed to charge you for a service they never provided. This was our first experience with SuperShuttle and they failed us. Unfortunately I didn't check SuperShuttle Los Angeles BBB rating before I made the reservation. No surprise it's an F. Personally, I would never pre-pay any shuttle service for airport transportation. Do so at your own risk.

We took a cab last Nov and as mentioned it was about $45. Cabs were right there so it was easy to get one.
