Sox Fan Cruiser Posted November 14, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted November 14, 2009 Excellent! Derrick and I are in our mid 40s. We are bringing another gay couple with us. They've only cruised once. This will be our 12th, all with Princess. We are going to show them the right way to cruise! This cruise is going to be here before you know it! Have you picked out excursions yet? Chris. Cruiser-Forever Posted November 17, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 17, 2009 Great, the more the merrier..... We have not picked excursions yet. We have been to all of these islands many times. In general, we like to sail so we ususally book a catamaran or two during the trip. Other than that, we like to lounge around....the best days are port days as eveyone leaves the ship and you get rid of the crowds....just my opinion. what do you have planned?? Sox Fan Cruiser Posted November 23, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted November 23, 2009 Since we are traveling with other folks, Derrick is going to do ziplining. I'm afraid of heights and won't do it. Then we are both going to do some begining scuba diving in Barbardos. Gotta try something new. Otherwise we are also, "get on a catamaran and enjoy the sun" type of people. In St. Thomas we'll go to our favorite bar for a couple of bushwackers and then off to Meagan's Bay. But we don't have a lot booked so far. What about on the ship? Will we find you in the shows, the casino, the singalong bar or just sitting quietly on your balcony? We usually eat dinner later, with cocktails before hand in the Wheelhouse bar and then cigars after. I tend to wander into the casino if Derrick has people to talk to. We also want to check out Adagio this time. We'll also be having a glass of wine and sushi at Vines and enjoying some gelato at the international cafe. Are you Princess vetrerans? This is our 12th cruise with them. The Ruby is a truly beautiful ship!
Cruiser-Forever Posted December 11, 2009 #6 Share Posted December 11, 2009 We have been on a bunch of cruises. This is maybe 5 or 6 with Princess. We did the same exact trip last year on the Emerald. We are lounge around types during the day, not necessarily sun, but definately lounge. We are all about grabbing a glass of wine at any time. We did "anytime dining" for the first time last year and we really liked it. Actually, we only went to the formal DR about half the time. 80-90% of the food served in the DR that night is also served up in the buffet. I hate to admit this but we were so lazy, we didn't always want to get dressed for dinner. Additionally, we "bought" chairs in the Sanctuary and loved it. We are not early risers while on vacation and nothing pisses me off more than the inevitable chiar hogs not leaving any chairs open. I know I am playing right into Princess' hands, but I don't want to have to hunt for a chair. It is so cold in Chicago today, all I could do is think about the cruise. Sox Fan Cruiser Posted December 12, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted December 12, 2009 It is REALLY cold here right now. February will be here before we know. I hope! We always talk about doing the sanctuary but have only done it for 1/2 a day once. We like watching the wake of the ship. We love anytime dinning. It's one of the things (there are many) that keep us coming back to Princess. I would be interested in talking to you guys as it sounds like you've done other lines. Right now we are true Princess loyalists. Will you be going to the gay meet and greet if they have them? We usually swing by and say hi. But it's usually not that hard to spot other "family" around. I just spent 1 hour and did ALL my holiday shopping! This cruise is our present to each other so I don't have to buy for him! :D
Cruiser-Forever Posted December 13, 2009 #8 Share Posted December 13, 2009 I would be happy to chat about cruises as much as you can handle. They are sort of a hobby of mine. I was fortunate that my parents were cruisers so I went on several family cruises when I was younger. Kinda got the bug back then. We have probably been on as many or more Celebrity cruises and then a smattering of a bunch of the others. I think Princess does a nice job and is a pretty good value. But I don't want say too much at this point....we should have pent to chat about over cocktails. Counting the days.....
Sox Fan Cruiser Posted December 13, 2009 Author #9 Share Posted December 13, 2009 Sounds great. I love talking about cruising too! I am THE go-to guy at the office when people have questions about cruising. Today is all about football! Where's the couch and the remote!
Skid28 Posted January 3, 2010 #10 Share Posted January 3, 2010 Hello gang, Jason and I will be on this cruise. We are 36 & 43. This will be our 10th Princess cruise and our 2nd on the Ruby. A fantastic ship! Look forward to meeting you guys!
Skid28 Posted January 3, 2010 #11 Share Posted January 3, 2010 My partner Jason LOVES the Sanctuary. We only go to the pool by the lotus spa. No kids allowed! We can totally relate to being lazy and not wanting to get dressed up for dinner. The only reason we get dressed up for 1 formal night is because my partner LOVES himself some lobster! Look forward to meeting you guys!

Sox Fan Cruiser Posted January 7, 2010 Author #13 Share Posted January 7, 2010 Did you guys want to have an informal meet and greet on that first day before sail-away. The other rollcall is very big and I don't remember what they have planned but we could meet for a drink before muster drill to say hi. Up to you. Sox Fan Cruiser Posted January 11, 2010 Author #15 Share Posted January 11, 2010 It looks like the main roll call is meeting after the muster drill for sail away. Come join us there if you want. But let's meet beforehand. Say 3ish at trade winds bar? That right above the main pool. We'll be the ones with drinks in our hands! :) Sound good?
