Alaska Cruise

We have a balcony stateroom booked on the port side for our cruise to Alaska. Will we have much opportunity for enjoying the scenery from our room?

sgmburt, my photos are from the starboard side and heading north we had ocean views until we got to the glaciers. Once we started south we had the land views.

Go check out my photos and see for your self. By the way all of my glacier shots are from my verandah.

We had a port SS on Zuiderdam this last summer and it was glorious. If you are doing Inside Passage, it doesn't matter too much because you will have great scenery in both directions. Loved the trip back to Vancouver, and seeing all of the smaller villages along the BC coastline.

Have a wonderful cruise!

I have done SS on the Ryndam 2x now, once Starboard, once Port and really have no preference. On a round trip it really doesn't matter. Having said that, I don't even think it would matter on a one way because there really is a ton to see out either side of the ship in BC and Alaska! Your going to love it!!

If you are sailing Glacier Bay AND only want viewig from your balcony, then you need a port side. Not sure the itinerary of this sailing, but there will be views at various times from both sides. If cruising Tracy Arm, those views are forward. More important is to have good plans, making the most of our port time. Excellent touring options to consider.
