Choice of Mayan tours with HAL

I would love advice from anyone who has taken any of the following excursions with Holland-America:

1. Mayan Palaces of Cahal Pech

2. Mayan Ruins of Xunantunich & Marimba lunch

The bottom line is I would love for my family to see a pyramid and see as much of the Mayan ruins as we can squeeze into the trip. THANKS!

We did the Xunatunich tour with Carnival. It is a very long day if you have any delays. The bus ride is somewhat un eventful but you do get to see Belize's country side. And if your guides are knowledgable, they'll give a good history talk. You take a little hand cranked ferry acros a small river then a van to the site's parking lot. You then climb a hill to the site. The site is very large and very impressive. Great views from the top of the temple, but very steep to climb. You spend about 2 hours at the site. Not sure where your lunch would be. We ate at Hodes in San Ignacio and they had music there, with outside seating. Traditional chicken rice and beans. Various sodas and Belikan beers available for purchase.
