Chesie Posted November 19, 2009 Author #26 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Chesie, I see you are going next May, so the US will be observing daylight savings. That will put us 1 hour behind PV time. I'm not sure what the Sapphire does, but when I was recently on the Splendor, we didn't touch our clocks and remained 1 hour behind PV.... All posted itinerary times are ship times...if you speak to anyone from LV or PV Tours, they will talk in PV time....I have always booked directly thru LV, no middleman. So here's an example... Arrive in PV 10am (11am PV time)...yes,you should make the 11:45 tour from the canopy office...go directly to canopy office When you were told you would be back at 4-430, that was PV time (ship time 3-330) We took the 10:45 tour (PV time-9:45 ship) and were back to the ship by 2 (ship time)...I checked the pics on my camera to make sure, because we went to the bar outside and had a couple of drinks. Does this help at all? Really need to find out from someone that sailed during daylight savings time on the Sapphire, what the Captain did as far as clocks...LOL! Thank you very much. It does help. I don't mind waiting for the tour, just want to be back an hour before ship sails. For the couple bucks savings from PV tours I think we'll book straight with LV. They seem to have a better heads up on things, at least that's the impression I got on the phone. I'll try not to bother you again!:o

Annie01 Posted April 19, 2010 #28 Share Posted April 19, 2010 Chesie, I have done the LV canopy tour twice. I love it. The guides are so helpful and so much fun. There is some uphill hiking involved, and most people in the best of shape still will be huffing and puffing a bit. It's the heat and altitude, but you get rests at each zip line. I'm 58 and small stature, and I was out of breath, but I kept on truckin along. They do have a few bottled water stations (later bottles and paper cups). I started saving $1 bills about 2 months before I left. Every time I used cash and got change, the dollars would go into an envelope. Really came in handy. Let me know if you have any more questions...Debbie Hello! Quick question with reference to the above. Does anyone know what the altitude is for the Los Veranos Canopy Tour?? (Sorry if this seems like a silly question :) ) Thanks!
Dale&Joan Posted April 20, 2010 #29 Share Posted April 20, 2010 Hi everyone! Would we be better off picking up the shuttle from Collage Disco, which I'm told is very close to the cruise ships, or right at the Canopy office? Still trying to figuire out the ship time vs PV time for a shuttle I've done both. College is a 2-3 miles and should cost about $5. If you have lot of time you can take a bus or cab down to the Romantic Zone. The go to the office. Make sure your cabbie knows where Fernando Rodriguez street is. One got us lost.
