If you're booking the cheapest inside category, then it is very likely that you won't be able to choose.

 

I've always had the best luck with midship cabins as my wife is a bit prone to motion sickness. The middle of the ship as the least movement overall. I also look at what is above and below. I like to be a couple of decks away in either direction from the main venues, but not directly above/below any of them because of noise. We opted on a cabin midship on deck 6 on the Magic, just aft of the center stairs/elevators.
