Cruiserccl Posted November 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2009 The 'rust' is from the salt water and yes it will be painted over. The tug boats were celebration the Oasis' arrival! :D
30knotsCruzinspeed Posted November 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2009 Thanks for giving the poster a nice and honest answer. :D Unlike a couple of posters on another thread who felt the question asked needed to have smart aleck remarks instead of a decent answer.:(
Thameth Posted November 14, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2009 Thanks for giving the poster a nice and honest answer. :D Unlike a couple of posters on another thread who felt the question asked needed to have smart aleck remarks instead of a decent answer.:( Ships are constantly fighting corrosion, its just part of life in salt water. Of course 40-60ft seas doesn't help that either. On most cruises you almost always see painting going on at every port, they are just constantly fighting corrosion. The Tugs/Fireboats spraying water is a traditional celebration for new ships..... Queen Mary 2 had the same thing when she arrived in Ft. Lauderdale.
