B2B Cruises on Carnival Destiny - what to do on 1st debarkation day

Hi folks

Have just booked two 5 night B2B cruises on Carnival Destiny next August from Miami - am really excited as have loved cruising twice with Carnival before (Freedom in Europe 2007 and Miracle from New York in 2008) and looking forward to these two cruises as they are to different ports of call so will be like a 10 night cruise.

The difference to our previous cruises of course is that after the first cruise most passengers will be disembarking, whilst we have another cruise to look forward to. We have managed to book the same cabin for both cruises so presume we do not have to pack our suitcases at the end of the first cruise in Miami, but is there a set process that we have to follow i.e can we stay on the ship or do we have to get off and on again ?

Look forward to your comments as I am sure many of you have done B2B cruises at some stage.

Oh you will LOVE this!!! We did a 4 night - 5 night on Destiny last year. It was the best ever sailing back into MIA and knowing we weren't going anywhere but up on Lido for DoD's on an empty ship:p

You do have to get off and get back on, the staff will let you know what time to meet at the purser's desk and escort you off and then back on. Your steward should know that you are staying on board, check with him/her on the last day of the 1st leg to make sure if they don't mention it sooner.

We were back on board around 9 but our new sign and sail cards were not ready yet, we had to go back later and get them. We were a large group though (Saints and Sinners 4).

We were not required to do muster again either, so we enjoyed a sailaway party in one of our group's aft cabin:p

And oh yeah, whatever liquor you purchase on the last day of the first leg and bring back to your cabin....well there you go, set for the second week:p

GREAT ship and GREAT choice for a B2B, enjoy!!! HTH!!!

We just did a B2B in New Orleans in September and loved it! The only problem being we wished we could keep our new friends from the first leg of the cruise on with us.

We met at the atrium bar for them to come and get us as we were the only 2 b2b's. Funny it seemed like this person has never had b2b people before as she had to keep finding out the next step. It all went smoothly, she walked us off the ship past the line of people still waiting for customs to the customs agent and had us just turn our declaration in and then back on the ship. Our cabin was right next to the atrium bar so when it was done our cabin steward came and told us our cabin was ready. We found a bottle of Champagne in the cabin compliments of Carnival for doing a b2b, nice touch, and we drank it while everyone else had to go do lifeboat.
