jsy Posted January 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2005 I've read there's more motion and noise near the front of the ship. Going on the Valor and have a Riviera Deck OV room. Our room is very, very near the front. Please advise before I cancel or upgrade.
cruisinfanatic Posted January 9, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2005 I've had cabins all over (front, aft, midship) on many ships. The least motion is always midship as low as you can get. It doesn't matter to me. Unless it's very rough, you will most likely have no problem.

When on the Legend, I felt more motion in the casino, dining room and theater on the lower decks. Our room was on the 8th Deck (BIG upgrade) and I felt nothing there. I'm just kind of worried about this room. Taking my friend on her first cruise and this is only my second.
Gingee Posted January 9, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2005 I think everyone has their own feelings on what is felt on a ship and what isn't. How close to the front are you?
zestytx Posted January 9, 2005 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2005 I guess I am an oddball, but to me, the motion is part of what makes the trip so restful. You are constantly rocked a bit, or more,.. after all, it is a ship.

Well, I'm about the 11th OV room from the front. Pretty close, huh?

You are constantly rocked a bit, or more,.. after all, it is a ship. I didn't get sick on the Legend, just felt a little dizzy when the ship would rock. Also, the Legend is more narrow than the Valor, so I might be okay. I just don't know what to expect. Hopefully, my PVP from Carnival can help me with the room location. The ship is not full, so I don't know about getting moved up this time.
Monalisa67 Posted January 9, 2005 #8 Share Posted January 9, 2005 We were on main deck in the front of the ship once. I did good (and actually liked the feeling) but my husband had a hard time. I guess it's different for everyone. You should be fine if you never had any problems before. Hubby is very "fragile" to motion!!! :p

Well, I guess it's Anchor's Away with our room. I'm finding this to be funny. I'll probably jump a mile out of my bed when the achor drops. Guess I was spoiled on my first cruise. My friend since 8th grade and I are going. And we're no spring chickens either. Hope neither one of us has a heart attack when that anchor drops. LOL!!! Boy, will she be in for some suprises.
