Spamiam Posted November 28, 2009 #26 Share Posted November 28, 2009 A tip of 2.00 per bag is good for the people to check your bags at the port. I always give them 10, but I always bring a *very heavy* bag. ;)
G'ma Posted November 28, 2009 #27 Share Posted November 28, 2009 My husband and I will be sailing on Canival Glory in March. Our travel agent told us that their would be tips automatically charged to our room. $10 per person per day which is fine with me. However in reading this forum I have gotten the impression that if you do not tip extra on top of the automatic tip charge that you will not get good service. Can someone please clarify for me what is the usual practice. Thank You W Peter There is no need to tip "extra" at all. You will get the same excellent service as everyone else. At the end of the cruise, if you think someone has been extra attentive or has enhanced your cruise experience through excellent service, feel free to tip a little extra in cash. It's not required, nor expected. I generally give a bit extra to the cabin steward and his assistant and to the waitstaff who've waited on me hand an foot for the week. Not always, but most of the time. Sometimes there might be a favorite bartender and I might leave extra for him/her.....and I always tip the dealers in the casino..win/lose or draw.
