Oasis Suite Perks

I just got an e-mail from the concierge on Oasis introducing themselves as well as explaining suite privileges. The 2 concierges are François and Reyno. There is a new VERY nice addition it appears of dining in the CL for both Breakfast and Lunch:) They also moved the reserved lounge chairs to the Solerium.....meaning they are obviously for adults ONLY....interesting:confused:

· Use of the Concierge Club lounge located on Deck # 11.

· Spa bathrobes for your use onboard & upgraded bathroom toiletries.

· A la carte breakfast served in the lounge daily from 7:00 am to 11:00 am.

· A la carte luncheon served in the lounge daily from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

· Hors d’oeuvres, petit fours and complimentary bar setup in the lounge every evening before and after dinner from 5:00pm to 8:30 pm.

· Daily menus displayed and pre-ordering for your diner wine.

· Personalized Port & Shopping guide advice.

· Reserved Lounge chairs set-up on Deck 17 Solarium Deck ( limited sitting arrangement).

· Complimentary pressing service on the first formal night.

did it say anything about get tickets to the shows at all. since you have special seating like on the freedom class. nothing about getting ice tickets too.

No it didn't.....I made reservations for my shows but I am thinking that with the gold card you may be able to just walk into any show with no reservations but not sure....will find out soon enough to the above questions.

I emailed Francois and Reyno a couple of weeks ago and they said

"Thank you for your e-mail, unlike other ships here on Oasis of the Seas all entertainment shows will need to be booked on line as well as the speciality restaurants."

To put it bluntly, RCI suite perks "suck" compared to some of the other cruise lines. For RCI having such beautiful and roomy suites, they need to up the ante on the perks considering what they charge. NCL is another mass market line and they blow RCI out of the water. So does HAL. Most of the stuff that RCI includes does not cost them anything additional to provide.

Would you mind passing along their email address?

Thumbs down to the Oasis of the Seas. One of my favorite suite perks is having my specialty restaurants and spa appoinments booked for us before our cruise. We also enjoyed the reserved seatings on the IOS ice shows.

I was not impressed with the letter that bajathree received from the Oasis concierges. Here is the letter that I received a couple of months ago from the IOS concierge

It is my pleasure to welcome you onboard the beautiful Independence of the Seas. We are honored that you have selected Royal Caribbean International for your cruise vacation.

My name is Julian Querico, your Concierge onboard. I am available to assist you with any special requests you may have throughout your cruise vacation. My hours in the Concierge Lounge are daily from 8:00 am to 10:30 am and 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

As a special VIP guest, you are offered exclusive amenities and services not available to other guest’s onboard Independence of the Seas. For your convenience, here is a brief summary of those services:

Use of the Concierge Lounge

Spa Bathrobes for use onboard

Upgraded amenities for the bathroom

Continental breakfast served in the lounge daily from 8:00 am to 10:00 am

Hors d’oeuvres, petit fours and complimentary bar setup served in the lounge every evening before and after dinner from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

Daily menus displayed and pre-ordering availability for your dinner wine

Full Dining Room room-service privilege (available when Dining Room is open)

Reservations for any of our specialty restaurants, sports activities, Explorations!, salon and spa services, etc.

Arrangements for private parties

Limited VIP lounge chair set-up near the pool bar area between decks 11 and 12

Port & Shopping advice

Business services such as faxing, copies, etc.

Personal escort to the gangway in ports-of-call

Cocktail party hosted by the Captain (invitations will be sent)

Reserved VIP seats for production shows and ice shows (please show Cruise Director’s staff your gold SeaPass card at the entrance).

Reserved private seating during breakfast and lunch at the Windjammer Café in the Portofino or Chops Grille (alternatively) dining area from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm (please see your service personnel for directions).

The Concierge Lounge is a private area accessible on a 24-hour basis with the special key in your welcome packet. Due to the adult oriented atmosphere and availability of alcoholic beverages in the evening, only guests of 18 years and above are permitted in the lounge between 5:00 pm and 8:30 pm. We respectfully request that guests use footwear and appropriate attire while in the lounge. The Concierge Lounge has been designated a smoke-free area.

Please come and see me in the Concierge Lounge or contact me by dialing 3190 from any ship phone. If there is any way I can be of assistance to make your cruise vacation more enjoyable, please do not hesitate to ask. We hope you will have the vacation of a lifetime onboard the Independence of the Seas.

Sincerely,

Julian Querico

Concierge

Independence of the Seas

Well, looks like instead of an "enhanced suite program" the Oasis will offer a "reduced suite program" for their suite guests:(

Good to know, I just hope that they can still make our appointments and reservations, and although I can make my own entertainment bookings I was looking forward to not having to do it. ;)

Grand Suite's and above.

Steve, we've booked a GS for March and some of the literature (RC press release) state that the Grand Suites have a "jetted tub" on the balcony; however, it doesn't say in the regular internet description and the people that answer the phones at RC don't have a clue. Any idea? Or do you have a contact that might know? Should I expect an email from the concierge since we booked recently? I would like to hear back from you regarding your "suite" experience to learn of any pointers/tips after your trip.

That was an earlier mistake of words....the GS's have a jetted tub in the bathroom, NOT on the balcony. I wouldn't expect any contact till a week or two ahead. Just bought a new camera today....plan to take lots of pix;)

Steve:

I read on another thread that the "smart phones" are going to be avabilable in three locations, including the concierge lounge. Are you planning on renting one?, and if you do, can you ask them to save you one when they email you?

To be honest...I really had not much interest in them on this sailing as it's just my dad and I...no kids to get lost and have to try to hunt down;)

But I will try to find out the info you seek next week:)

I'm interested in the WowPhone also. Any info on how to secure one would be greatly appreciated. It would be nice if we could reserve one through the concierge.
